PLC racks

Racks model PLCs that take plug-in I/O modules. The FSAE example doesn’t use one; open the CompactLogix 24VDC distribution template in the Gallery to see a 5069-L306ER with a 5069-OB16 in slot 1.

  • Give a PLC part (category plc) a number of Module slots in the Codex. I/O modules are separate parts with category io.
  • Click a PLC’s slot badge on the canvas (or use the Components tab) to open its rack and put a module in each slot.
  • Blocks show 3/8 slots on the PLC and PLC1 · slot 2 on each module, on the canvas and in the PDF.
